The Fly 2 (sequel to the brilliant 1986 version which is a superior remake itself) is woeful.

Most sequels are shit money-making exercises. There are, however, a rare few that eclipse the original film. Aliens and The Empire Strikes Back come to mind.

probably the three new Star Wars prequels are the worst ever made. Lucas completely fucked the whole thing for me when he introduced Jar Jar Binks

Predators, though, the second sequel released a few years back, is actually surprisingly really good.
Ring 2 was quite shit. The Jap one obvz.
Also the first Mummy film I thought was really good, coulda been an Indiana Jones film. The sequel was barable but the kid was a cunt. And since then they've got progressively worse.
And speaking of IJ.... the most recent IJ film with the aliens was awful.

I guess more of a remake than a sequel, but when Mel Gibson did The Passion, his reboot of Monty Python's Life of Brian - it wasn't nearly as funny as the original.

No mention yet for Green Street 2???
I must admit I haven't actually seen it, but I do feel confident enough to add it here based solely on reputation and the hilarious reviews on Amazon (file under C for Comedy). The first one was bad, this must be appalling.
